Manchester United are currently going through a difficult spell.
Jose Mourinho’s men are coming off from the 1-0 blow away at Basel, which is their second defeat in last three matches. The Swiss side once again proved problematic for the Premier League giants who were already eliminated from Europe’s elite club competition at St. Jacob-Park in 2011/2012.The Red Devils struggled to find their way forward despite dominating the possession. United had only three goal attempts during the entire 90 minutes and they largely failed to use the presence of first-team stars such as Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was later introduced to boost the firepower.Their hopes were crushed in the 89th minute of the match when Lang scored to complicate United’s position in the Group A.
Manchester United could have secured their place in the knockouts with at least a point but this way they will have to wait for it a bit more. Back to the home front, Mourinho’s men are due to face Premier League newcomers Brighton who have been alternating between draws and wins over the past five league matches – winning away, interestingly enough.Old Trafford side is still expected to put in a much-improved display in order to make amends for the failed midweek opportunity and we see them grabbing three points without conceding.
Betfred gives you an 8/13 price on that bet.
