The January transfer window is about to open, with Premier League managers at pains to point out that it’s not a particularly good month to be signing players.
However, it won’t stop a flood of signings taking place, with Liverpool expected to be active as Jurgen Klopp looks to improve his squad after presiding over several games thus far.
Here are three players that could work out for Liverpool FC.
- Andre Gray (Burnley)
Having previously plundered Danny Ings from Burnley, perhaps Liverpool should return to Turf Moor and land a forward who has scored fifteen goals for the Clarets this season.
Gray is still only 24 and has followed a Jamie Vardy-esque path which started at Hinckley United before spells with Luton and Brentford. He’s the Championship leading scorer and has the sort of pace and trickery that could make him a hit.
- Scott Dann (Crystal Palace)
The Crystal Palace central defender is better than Skrtel, Sakho and Lovren. He’s a boyhood Liverpool fan who would surely jump at the chance to sign for the Merseyside club, having shone at Selhurst Park since arriving from Blackburn two years previously.
- Ben Gibson (Middlesbrough)
Liverpool have had this central defender on their radar for a while now, with the 22-year-old part of the meanest defence in the Championship and he’s helping his boyhood club to land promotion this term.
Gibson has already secured 72 appearances for Boro and could bring some added steel to a defence, with Klopp looking to the future as well as the present.
